Description

CTC   This blade was designed by Carrie Lopez.  She wanted a blade she could use around the ranch to remove the limbs off of fallen trees.  She sketched it out and handed me the design.   The handle is full tang with cross hatch markings for grip and includes a Lanyard hole. Note the front and rear of the handle grip area is designed to keep your hand from sliding.   The handle size is designed for medium sized hands.  I recommend wrapping the handle with grip tape if you have large hands.

One of the Letters “C” stands for Carrie.   Those that are close to Carrie know the meaning of the other 2 letters.   This is one of my favorite blades.  It is simple design and gets the job done.  Carrie also wanted one that was easier to make and lower priced for the public and here it is.   Cut Throat Carrie.  Video Link Below from a review.

CTC Knife – Compact Bushcraft & Camp Blade

The CTC Knife is designed as a dependable bushcraft tool, suited to the quiet, deliberate work of camp life. Compact and well balanced, it favors control and precision—qualities valued by woodsmen who rely on their knife for daily tasks rather than occasional use.  Hand-forged in small batches, each CTC Knife reflects honest craftsmanship and practical design. It is built for those who practice traditional outdoor skills and value tools that work as intended.

Why Carbon Steel Matters for Bushcraft

Carbon steel has long been the material of choice for woodsmen and traditional outdoorsmen, and for good reason. In bushcraft, a knife is expected to be used, maintained, and relied upon, often far from modern conveniences.  Carbon steel sharpens easily with simple tools, making it possible to restore a keen edge in the field using a stone or strop. It also offers excellent toughness, allowing the blade to withstand repeated carving, notching, and wood work without chipping.  Unlike stainless steel, carbon steel develops a natural patina over time. This patina helps protect the blade from corrosion and tells the story of the knife’s use—each mark earned through work rather than wear.  With basic care, a carbon steel blade will last for decades, making it well suited to the traditional bushcraft approach: one good knife, properly maintained, for a lifetime of use.

This is the third blades I buy from you and like the first two I am not disapointed. The heavy Blade balance well, it’s sharp and feel good and lighter in the hand. I bought it for a chopper for the UTV to clear bushes on the trail. Very happy! Thank you guys!
Ps the firemaking kit is a nice add up!

  2. Jeff aka Buff Studly

I purchased one of these EXCELLENT BLADES in the CTC Knife Kit on August 18, 2025. As I mentioned, this is an excellent blade and I used to help clear downed trees from that Very Bad Ice Storm we had back at the end of March 2025. There was a lot of damage here in Northern Michigan and The CTC Knife has been invaluable to me with this task. With that said, I can say now, BUY ONE.
