I could not be more satisfied with these two blades. Excellent quality.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SET OF “KARDA” & “CHAK-MAK” IN YOUR KIT=BAG OR THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED WITH YOUR KHUKURI, THIS IS THE BEST AVAILABLE ANYWHERE !!!!! THEY ARE MADE FROM THE SAME #5160 AS THE “BIG BLADES” EXCEPT HAVE A DIFFERENT HEAT TREAT FOR THE TASKS THEY ARE UTILIZED FOR. THE CHAKMAK WILL MAINTAIN THE CUTTING EDGE ON ANY “WESTERN/AMERICAN/MILITARY DESIGN. BTW: THE CHAKMAK MAKES AN AWESOME “SPARK THROWER” WHEN STARTING A FIRE USING OLD-SCHOOL METHODOLOGY—–OORAH, SEMPER-FI & KEEP EVERY SHOT INSIDE THE 10-RING !!!! FOREVER

These are great accessories. Well-made, well finished and fit my hand well. I have tried the chakmak on two knives and it sure seems to help keep an edge on them. I have not yet tried the karda. It is sharp. I will try making it sharper. I bought these to accompany my 1874 made kukri. These accessories are a very good value. I recommend them as functional knife and sharpening steel.

OOPS, I FORGOT TO SAY SOMETHING IN MY RECENT REVIEW OF THE “KNIVES BY HAND” CHAKMAK & KARDA, SO HERE GOES….THE “CHAKMAK” IS USED TO MAINTAIN THE CUTTING EDGE & FOR THROWING SPARKS TO MAKE A FIRE. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO SHARPEN THE BLADE, BUT SIMPLY FOR “HONING”—YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE CUTLERY TERMS !!! THE “KARDA” IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A VERY SMALL BLADE FOR SKINNING SMALL ANIMALS, CUTTING FOOD INTO SMALL BITES @ THE DINNER TABLE, CLEANING UNDER THE FINGERNAILS, ETC. THE KARDA HAS A VERY SHARP CUTTING EDGE & THE CHAKMAK HAS 4 VERY DULL EDGES & IS MADE FROM THE SAME PIECE OF SPRING STEEL WHICH THE BIG BLADE IS HAND FORGED FROM. HOWEVER, THE CHAKMAK HAS A MUCH HARDER “ROCKWELL SCALE” THAN THE BIG BLADE FOR USE AS A HONING TOOL. BOTTOM LINE: THESE ACCESSORY BLADES ARE MADE TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF QUALITY, THE SAME AS THE BIG BLADES ARE. I HAVE BEEN DOING BUSINESS WITH FRANK GONZALES SINCE 2014 & PROMISE YOU HE IS HONORABLE, ETHICAL, DEPENDABLE, PATRIOTIC, & IS MAN WHO BACKS UP WHAT HE PROMISES TO DO FOR HIS CUSTOMERS ——OORAH & SEMPER FI !!!!!
