Description

ARTEMIS – Hand-Forged Hunting and Field Knife:  Takes a lot of inspiration from the Kephart knife , but made with a more modern look.  The tip remains in line with the handle pins for drilling such as making a bow drill.  The tip widens as it goes toward the tip.   From the tip back about 2 1/2 inch, the blade is thinned a bit.  This allows you to choke up on the blade to skin small animals or scrape hide.  Also added a thumb rest with Jimping.  The handle is kept durable by use of a thick full tang and adding micarta for the handle.  A Lanyard hole was added to the knife per some customers’ requests.     The Spine has jimping  in the curvature designed for the thumb to allow you to get a good purchase on the knife.    Full Tang Handle has a Lanyard hole.  Comes with leather sheath that can be worn either right side, left side or horizontal (scout carry).

Named after Artemis, the ancient goddess of the hunt, this knife is built for those who move confidently through wild places. The Artemis is not a showpiece — it is a working blade, designed to perform when skill and reliability matter most.

Hand-forged in small batches, each Artemis knife carries subtle variations that reflect true craftsmanship. No two are exactly alike, because no serious tool should be stamped out by machines alone.

Purpose-Driven Design

The blade profile balances control and cutting power, making the Artemis ideal for:

  • Field dressing game

  • Camp and bushcraft tasks

  • General outdoor and survival use

The geometry allows for precise cuts near the edge while maintaining enough mass for confident slicing and light chopping.

Built to Be Used

Every Artemis knife is forged, ground, and finished by hand. The steel is heat-treated for durability and edge retention, then sharpened to a working edge meant to be maintained in the field — not babied on a shelf.

The handle is shaped for a secure, natural grip, even during extended use, providing comfort and control whether you’re working bare-handed or with gloves.

The Artemis knife makes production knives seem fragile… I have a KBH kukri its great also… Im really digging 5160 spring steel… You cant go wrong with one of Franks blades

  2. Victor Andrea (verified owner)

Received it in the mail today and did some light bushcraft with it. Sturdy little knife that has a nice feel to it. Really like the rosewood grip and the jimping. Well worth the price as all of Frank’s knives are. Thanks!
