Description

Ang Khola – World War II Pattern Khukuri

Bringing a heritage driven Khukuri to you from Nepal.  Neem is the maker. This sharpened and heavy-duty design is based on  ” Historical khukuri used in World War II”. History of this style of blade comes from the battle fields.     This is a recreation and has the stronger bolster and strong full tang.   Steel tip on the scabbard. This knife balances on the cutting edge.  See video below. (ANG KHOLA , ANGKHOLA)

It comes with the scabbard and traditional side knives – The Karda (small knife) and the Chakmak (used to hone blade in the field) are useful in size.  LEATHER MAY SHOW SOME DISCOLORATIONS DUE TO NATURAL MATERIALS AND OILS.  SOME AREAS MAY BE DARKER THAN OTHERS.

The knife weight varies slightly (+/- a couple of grams) as these are hand forged.  This is a good knife for General Purpose camp use and can be used for self defense.  Price includes shipping inside the USA.

The Ang Khola khukuri is one of the most respected and formidable traditional blade patterns ever carried. This World War II–era design is known for its thick spine, deep fuller, and exceptional strength, traits that made it a trusted tool and weapon during one of the most demanding periods in history.

This knife follows the traditional Ang Khola form, honoring the blades carried by Gurkha soldiers and used in the harsh conditions of wartime service. It is built with strength first, yet remains well balanced in the hand.

A Blade Forged for Hard Use

The Ang Khola’s heavy spine and forward weight give it authority in every cut, making it well suited for:

  • Heavy chopping and wood processing

  • Camp and field work

  • Clearing brush and trail maintenance

  • General outdoor and utility tasks

The deep fuller reduces weight while preserving structural integrity, allowing the blade to work efficiently without sacrificing durability.

Traditional Craftsmanship

Each Ang Khola khukuri is hand-forged using time-tested methods. The blade is heat-treated for toughness and dependable edge retention, producing a working edge that holds up under demanding use and can be maintained easily in the field.

The handle follows traditional Ang Khola proportions, shaped for a secure grip and controlled handling, even during extended periods of work.

✔ Historic World War II–era design
✔ Thick spine for strength and durability
✔ Deep fuller for balance and efficiency
✔ Hand-forged using traditional methods
✔ Built as a working blade, not a replica

The Ang Khola – World War II Pattern is a knife for those who respect history, value strength, and rely on tools proven under the hardest conditions.

Ordered the blade Sunday morning and it was in my hands Wednesday afternoon. This is my first quality khukuri. Others I have or have examined are no comparison whatsoever. The fitment and craftsmanship is top notch. Blade is mirror polished and is quite literally razor sharp out of the package. Slices paper just like the videos and removed hair from my arm. This knife is scary well balanced; it feels like an extension of my hand. Some others from other sellers I have used feel more like a cheap machete. Not so with this one. Accessory knife is functionally serviceable but mine may need a light honing for skinning purposes. The only fault I can find is during shipping, the plastic wrap over the sheath affected the leather polish just a little. Easy fix, plus this will be my field use knife. Sheath is a proper tight and perfect fit; blade doesn’t come out unless you want it to. Everything is clearly handcrafted, but great care was evidently given to every single detail. You can trust Knives By Hand and the products they sell if this is any indication of the rest of their offerings. I will be buying more!

Shipping to Sweden took 5 days from the day i order to the day i picked it up. Fastest shipping ive experienced from the states.
Now to the Khukri. What a beautiful and usefull piece of craftsmanship!! Its starts with the scabbard which is nicely stitched up, everything sits securely inside it and it has some really sweet details. The chakmak seems really nice, i havent used it to hone the edge yet so time will tell. The karda is an awesome little knife on its own. I wear medium gloves and can grab it with a full grip. I agree with the previous review that it might need a little honing to be as sharp as the khukri but thats an easy fix.
The khukri itself is like a piece of art you can chop, slice or carve whatever you want with. First thing i did was chop through a dry, thick branch of juniper with ease. Next i carved some notches with help of the slicing part of the blade (closest to the handle) and the tip. I was surprised with the precision i could get from such a knife. I also did some batoning and feathersticking. It perfomed amazingly in all tasks imo. I could have carved the notches faster or made prettier feathers with a different knife and it obviously doesnt replace a splitting maul but i was amazed at how well this khukri perfomed on my first little tests. I cant wait to take it out in the woods and do some real work with it. It truly does seem like a one tool option for anything slicey or choppy.

I absolutely recommend Knives by Hand!!
    Thank you Frank and Neem!
