In Collaboration with Neem Tenji out of Nepal, this is a real working replica of the khukuri that got me into Khukuris. The Blade is based on the khukuri the Gurka was carrying in the 1980s. Original was issued from the 1950 to the 1990s. The BSI 1950 No 2 khukuri is provided to all the British Gurkha soldiers during enlistment and is retained by them throughout their army career. Inspected regularly by an officer, this khukuri is usually used for field work. The original is stick tang, but this one was remade in Full tang. This was the khukuri blade that got me into khukuri. The first time I saw this blade, I asked what kind of knife is that. I was woefully ignorant of khukuri and carried a stag handled Bowie knife in the Military. (Our unit was allowed to carry whatever blade we wanted). It was a long time ago. I saw what they could do with them and it was impressive.
It is date stamped on the spine with Month and year with Nepal on the side.
This kukuri comes with the traditional small side knife (karda) and the honing steel (chak mak) as the brown leather sheath. THe sheath has an extra pocket to carry Fire tinder or other items.
The Khukri weight varies slightly (+/- a couple of grams) as these are hand forged.
