Forged from tough 5160 spring steel, the Bushbreaker features a long, forward-curving blade that delivers exceptional cutting power. The weight-forward design allows the knife to bite deep into wood and vegetation, making it ideal for trail clearing, shelter building, and general camp work.
The convex edge geometry provides excellent durability while maintaining strong cutting performance. Unlike thin machetes, the Bushbreaker carries more mass behind the edge, giving it the authority needed for heavy chopping while still remaining controllable in the hand.
A rugged full tang construction ensures strength from tip to pommel. The micarta handle scales provide a secure grip even in wet or muddy conditions, while the pommel helps lock the hand in place during powerful swings. The Finger Choil has grooves for scraping. This can be used to scrape a ferro rod or to create tinder for a fire.

I don’t know what to do with this knife. When I bought it I was looking for a big heavy chopper for clearning brush, camp tasks, and processing wood on camp and hunt trips. It can definately work for that, its certainly up to the task. My problem is the knife is so amazingly beautiful that I would feel awful marring its impecibly polished blade. I have just been admiring it for days now. The blade is very stout and large, but it doesn’t feel like a drag. There is a lot of mass in the handle that balances the wieght of the large blade extremely well so while it is weighty its not in any way dificult to use. It’s polished to a beautiful satin finish on the blade while the pommel and bolster are highly polished. The pictures on this site do not do justice to how beautiful the craftasmanship on this knife is. I really love the soft yet grippy Micarta scales and I am very impressed at how perfectly symetric and consistant the Convex bevel is throuout the length of the blade considering the recurved geometry, it arrived razor sharp and well oiled. This is my 3rd Purchase from Frank and while I am happy with all my purchases this one is a master stroke.
