Description
Introducing the MK1 Khukuri made in a smaller 10 inch version (original was over 13 inch blade). This is an Old Style Khukuri from Neem out of Nepal : The Mark I also known as MK1. The original Khukuri was modeled after one made by East India Company in Kolkata in 1914 AD. This was due to war breaking out and more knives were needed than could be produced in Nepal. The Gurkha Army was entering World War 1 and needed blades. This was the first major engagement for the Gurkha Army under the British Army Command. This is a style of blade that the enemy would have faced in World War I. The Notch is known as Kaudi (sometimes called cho). Notice the Kaudi is modeled after the Crown of England. This smaller version does not come with the traditional side knives.
While it is a reproduction, it is fully functional and sharp. The Scabbard is a leather sheath. This is a good knife for General Purpose camp use and easily used for self defense. Price includes shipping inside the USA.
