Description

Candeleria Bowie. (Be advised this handle is designed for smaller hands).

Candeleria was one of Jim Bowie’s nurses in the Alamo when he fell ill on the second day of the siege. Bowie gifted her a knife.    Later, She reported to Sam Houston, and gifted this same small knife to him. The original is now housed in the San Jacinto Museum.  This knife is inspired by the one in the museum.  Picture of knife in the museum is shown above.

The sheath uses a snap to retain the blade by the guard.  This is demonstrated in the video .

The Knife weight varies slightly (+/- a couple of grams) as these are hand forged.   Price includes leather sheath and shipping inside the USA.

I feel in love with this Bowie when Frank first proposed this design two years ago. I love the looks of it but when I received it and used it – it sealed my love for this knife. I was concerned about how narrow the handle is but the cross pattern jimping on the handle lends for a solid grip even when doing the most arduous tasks. The bonus, as with most of Frank’s knives, is Niki’s hand-crafted leather sheath – a shear work of beauty.

Note I was not a big fan of Bowie knives until I discovered Frank’s page – now I am the proud owner of 5 of his Bowie’s.
